160427_Casey-James-Prestwood-Burning-Angels-band

Had the pleasure of listening to Casey James Prestwood and his impeccably dressed crew at the 5 Spot last night. Didn’t get enough, so in for more this evening.  This Denver-based band plays a good mix of classic country and original music. Give them a listen here:

Here are some shows I would like to recommend this week. When great performances overlap, the star indicates the show I plan to attend. Please come find me and say hello! If you plan to attend one of these shows, please let me know in the comments so I can look for you.

Also, I’m still trying to get the word out about the new page. You can help by liking and sharing this article and liking the FTNB Facebook page and other social media accounts if you haven’t already.

Any other shows that you think should be on here? Add them in the comments.

Emily Nenni

For anyone who has yet to go to the American Legion on Gallatin in general, or for one of their Tuesday shows in particular—I can say with confidence, you are missing out on something special.

Dim light. Wisps of smoke hanging in the air. American flags galore. There is a bi-modal distribution of age in the crowd with Korea/Vietnam veterans and quarter-life hipsters in western attire being roughly evenly represented. You enter into a lounge area with a bar. Laid back and quiet enough to have a conversation. The real action is in the ballroom in the back. On Tuesdays there is always a great country band or two. Plenty of space to sit as well as a large dance floor. So, don’t forget your dancin’ shoes!

Come on out tonight. Say hello. I guarantee you’ll be back for another show.

Once more: April 5, 2016 – 8:00 p.m. American Legion Post 82. 3204 Gallatin Pike. 37216.
